Welcome to SGGSCC Library!
The SGGSCC Library was established with a clear mission and vision to fulfil the information needs of all its stakeholders by providing the right information to the right users at the right time. The foundation stone of Sri Guru Gobind Singh College of Commerce was laid in 1984, and in the same year, the SGGSCC Library came into existence.
Centrally located and spread across three floors, the library offers a calm and conducive environment for learning. It is well-stocked, fully air-conditioned, and equipped with modern facilities, serving as the primary knowledge hub of the college. The library follows an open access system and provides a spacious reading room, along with dedicated seating arrangements for group study and discussions. Clear signage and user guides are available throughout the premises to assist users.
For safety, a fire-fighting system has been installed on every floor. The library boasts a rich and diverse collection of books, reference materials, journals, magazines, and newspapers across multiple disciplines, available in both print and digital formats. It caters to the academic needs of users from various fields, including Commerce, Economics, English, Punjabi, Hindi, Mathematics, Computer Science, Environmental Studies, Political Science, General Studies, and Sikhism.
A dedicated Sikh Centre for Inter-Faith Studies has been established on the first floor, offering a spacious reading area with access to rare books on different religions. To promote inclusivity and equal access, the library also features a special corner for differently-abled users, equipped with facilities to access both print and electronic resources, along with an on-site wheelchair service.
